Mabie Todd introduced the 'Fyne Poynt' pencil in 1922 as a 'stand alone' item, not associated with the Swan name or any other pen model. From 1931 the pencils carried a patent number and the Swan name.
This example, finished in black, has no patent or model name but does have a very clear Mabie Todd imprint, probably made in the late 1920s.
The pencil is in excellent condition with a first class surface and bright gold filling to the clip. The top of the barrel can be unscrewed to accss an eraser and spare leads stored in the barrel. The eraser has degraded with age but I have left it in situ as it is original to the pencil.
In collectable condition, this early Fyne Poynt would also make a very good vintage every day writer.
