The Swan Calligraph was made by Mabie Todd, in England, in the early 1950s. This model features a type of button filler where the button is turned to compress the pressure bar.
The pen is finished in black with triple Gold filled cap bands, clip, and cap stud. It has an excellent finsish and the Gold filling has held up very well indeed. At well over six inches in length, when posted, it is a substantial and handsome pen in a classic, understated sense.
The pen has been fully restored and tested. The 14 Ct. Gold Swan number 2 nib is distinctive in that it has a stylysed 'C' around the breather hole, presumably for 'Calligraph'. It writes with a medium line with a suggestion of flex.
