Parker '17' Super Duofold fountain pen/pencil set.

Regular price

The Parker '17' was added to the immensely successful Duofold range in 1962. It originally had an exposed nib but was changed to a hooded version, this pen, in 1964.  It was made in two versions, the 'standard' and the 'Super'.  The more expensive 'Super 17' had an unusually wide, gold filled cap band and a Gold filled ring at the end of the barrel.

This set is a fine example of a Parker '17' Super Duofold', it was made in England around the mid sixties.

The pen appears to have seen very little use and the pencil is probably unused.  The set is supplied in its original box, along with a clean instruction leaflet.  Pen and pencil carry a sharp, clear barrel imprint.  The set can be accurately described as 'Near Mint'.

The U.K. Duofolds of the sixties were made in four colours: Red, Black, Blue and Green.  Green is, by far, the least common colour.

The Parker '17' is not a rare pen by any means but the '17 Super is significantly less common and a complete set in Green and in this condition comes along very infrequently.
