Only appearing for a short time just before the Parker 180 was discontinued, this textured resin coated TX version is among the most rare, and the last, of the 180 line.
In outstanding condition throughout, the pen appears to have seen very little, if any use, although I have inked it for testing purposes. The original ink conveter is fitted to the pen and the ink sac is unstained, they were made in the blue colour. The 180 is a very slim pen so the 'standard' width converters will not fit tin the barrel. a new ink cartridge is included so the pen is ready to write in either configuration.
The most striking feature of the 180 is the unique nib assembly. Parker were determined to offer a large open nib on the 180 so it was reinforced from above by a metal strut and from below by a robust feed. The result is the distinctive, lethal looking, and effective 180 nib assembly.
The broad medium nib on this pen is a gem. It delivers a smooth, wettish, broad line with ease, it would particularly suit someone who enjoys writing with a flourish.
The Parker 180 was always recognised as a pen with individuality and a certain 'quirkiness', it has undergone a huge surge in popularity among fountain pen enthusiasts of late.
