The Parker 21 was introduced as a less expensive alternative to the Parker 51, as the company was always eager to explore all sectors of the market. This was particularly important in this case, as many other manufacturers were producing pens with hooded nibs, in the style of the Parker 51.
The Parker 21 Super, this pen, was introduced in 1956 and made into the 1960s. The style of the clutch ring and cap stud suggest that this is a very early 21 Super.
The pen has been serviced, tested, and is in excellent condition. Fnished in Teal, the pen has a showroom shine and the cap is ding free with a bright chrome clip and cap stud. This flat cap stud was replaced by a dished design in later pens.
The aerometric filling system is efficient, easy to use, and takes up a good volume of ink. The 'Octanium' nib writes with a smooth, fine line, ideally suited to small handwriting or for more detailed work.
The Parker 21 is a good pen, it writes well, is practical and well built with an impeccable pedigree and is the first choice of many collectors as an every day writer so it comes well recommended.
