The Parker 45 was introduced in 1960, this pen is the first version, often termed the 'Classic'. The pen, which was made in England, is in mint, unused condition.
The pen came to me as unused so I removed the nib as part of the inspection of the pen and to check that there were no traces of ink, that the nib was 14Ct. Gold, and in unused condition. The pictures show that this was correct in these respects. the nib is clearly stamped as 14Ct. Gold, made in England. The 45 Gold nibs are superb writers.
Teal is a very uncommon Parker 45 colour. It is an attractive blue with a green tinge, named after the wing flash on the duck of that name.
The pen is a cartridge/ converter filler, it is supplied with two new Parker ink cartridges so it is ready to write. It would make a very practical every day vintage writer.
Parker 45s are not particularly rare pens and perhaps this is why they are so vastly undervalued, but it is important to realise that they are not rare mainly because they are good pens and have survived well. Nevertheless, it is unusual to find a totally mint pen, particularly in this less common colour.
