This Parker 51 was made, in England, in 1955. The barrel has an imprint with a date code and the country.
The pen is in excellent condition throughout. The Black lucite body is pristine and has a deep shine. The cap is ding free and is stamped as rolled Silver. This is the most sought after of the English Parker 51 caps and is very hard to find in this condition.
After disassembly the pen was throughly cleaned and checked. The reassembled pen was then tested for filling, writing, and leaks. It fills well following the instructions on the filler sleeve and there are no leaks. The 14 Ct. Gold nib is an exceptional writer, it delivers a super smooth medium line, perhaps a touch on the fine side.
The Parker 51 is, arguably, the best pen that Parker ever made and certainly the most successful pen in history. This is a fine example of an English made pen with a very rare cap. It is a pen with character and prestige, it would make a first class every day writer.
