This Parker 51 Classic is immaculately finished in Black with a Lustralloy cap, chrome clip, and pearl cap stud.
The 14Ct. Gold hooded nib is a superb writer, it has a 'soft' feel, is super smooth and produces a consistent medium line.
The surface has a deep shine, the cap is ding free, and the 'pli-glass' ink sac shows no staining.
The pen, made in England, can be dated between 1958, when the 'halo' was added to the cap, and 1960, when the breather hole was moved to the centre of the barrel. This pen has the halo and an end breather hole.
The Parker 51 is regarded as amongst the best pens ever made and this example certainly lives up to that claim. As a high quality, reliable and distinguished every day writer with a great deal of prestige the 51 is very hard to beat.
