Parker 51 Classic, near mint, customised cap.

Regular price

The Parker 51 aerometric filling system was introduced in 1948. This pen is stamped for the third quarter of 1956, it is appproaching it's 67th birthday.

The 51 is often described as 'the best pen ever made', it was often copied but never equalled.  This is an outstanding example, it has a 'showroom' Classic Black finish and a 'Lustralloy' cap with a pearl end stud.  The cap is totally ding free and is unusual in that it has been customised to a highly polished surface, which just gives the pen a little extra.  It is a most attractive pen.

The pen has been fully serviced, cleaned, and tested. The aerometric filling system works well, it is very simple and easy to use.  The 14 Ct. Gold nib has a medium point which lays down a smooth and consistentmedium line, perhaps a little on the fine side.

The box is from a later pen but it houses the '51' very well and is in pristine condition.

The Parker 51 is the first choice of many collectors as a daily user, it is a totally reliable, stylish and very practical pen with a great deal of prestige.
