This Parker 51 fountain pen/pencil set was produced, in England in 1956. Finished in classic black with lustralloy caps, chrome clips, and pearl end studs, it is in excellent condition throughout.
The set has been fully serviced and tested, it is in first class working order. The barrels and section have a very bright finish with no scratches and the frosting on the ding free caps has held up well, suggesting sparing and careful usage. The 'Made in England' barrel imprint is very clear.
The pen is an 'Aerometric' filler and the pencil, date stamped 1956, has a clutch mechanism with a cap action expel and manual retract. The eraser appears to be unused.
The 14Ct. Gold nib writes with a very smooth medium line.
The Parker hard presentation case, although from a later set, is also excellent. It is free from stains and in good, clean, solid condition.
The Parker 51 is often referred to as the best pen Parker ever made and this set certainly supports that claim. Although of collectable quality, it would make a good 'every day user' set with a good deal of prestige.
