Parker 61 Classic in Grey. Boxed, Immaculate, Uninked New Old Stock.

Regular price

Parker introduced the '61' in the U.S.A. in 1956 and changed to an aerometric filler in 1969, this pen is the earlier capillary filler, dating from the mid 1960s.

The pen is in immaculate, unused condition throughout. The bright pink colour of the capillary cell shows, incontrovertibly, that the pen has never been inked.  the pen has a factory finish with a fully frosted cap and secure arrow motif on the hood.

In designing the Parker 61 pen Parker made the curious decision to add an 'arrow' to the top of the hood as they were of the opinion that their customers would not otherwise know which way up to hold the pen!  Inevitably the arrows frequently fall off over time leaving the poor customers confused again about how to hold a pen.

It is presented in the original Parker 61 box.  The filling instructions are also original and refer to the capillary filling system.  The box and instructions are in excellent condition.

The Parker 61 is a high quality pen.  Based on the Parker 51,  it has an excellent pedigree and reputation as a great writer.  An 'as new, unused 61 is clearly a collector's item but, perhaps it is time for this fine pen to be used and shown off!
