The Parker 61 Insignia capillary filler ran from 1962 to 1969 this is definitely a 1960s pen.
The insignia model is constructed in 12Ct. rolled gold, one tenth gold by weight. Rolled gold is a sheet of gold that is hot rolled and bonded to brass, it is at least one hundred times thicker than gold plate.
The pen is in excellent condition, ding free and has no personalisation. The gold 'arrow' motif on the section was added because Parker felt that some users may have difficulty in working out which way round to hold the pen! Fifty odd years later many pens have lost the arrow but this one is all present and correct.
The capillary cell has been thoroughly cleaned and flushed and the 14 Ct. Gold produces a super smooth fine line.
The box is the correct Paker 61 box for the period and is very likelly to be original to this pen. It iis in good, clean condition.
The Parker 61 Custom Insignia is a high quality, prestigious fountain pen. This is a fine example, at least fifty years old and now ready for decades more service.
