The Parker 61 Custom capillary filler ran from 1961 to 1969 in England so this is definitely a 1960s pen.
A 'Custom' model, it is finished in classic Black with a rolled Gold cap and Gold 'arrow' motif on the section. Apparently this was added because Parker felt that some users may have difficulty in working out which way round to hold the pen! Fifty odd years later many pens have lost the arrow but this one is all present and correct.
The pen is in excellent condition, the cap is ding free, has a good surface and the original pearl cap stud. the 'arrow clip' is straight, secure, and correctly aligned.
The capillary cell has been thoroughly cleaned and flushed and the 14 Ct. Gold nib is a superb writer. it produces a super smooth medium line, perhaps a little on the broad side, and is a pleasure to use.
The box is new, it is of high quality and will serve well for protection, transport, and display.
The Parker 61 Custom is a high quality, prestigious fountain pen. This is a fine example, at least fifty years old and now ready for decades more service.
