The Parker 65 Flighter De Luxe was introduced in 1970 and continued until 1982. In 1975 the plastic cap screw was relaced by a metal version, as in this pen.
In excellent condition, it is presented in the original hard plastic, red lined box along with the guarantee slip dated 14.7.75. The recess underneath the tray houses a new Parker ink cartridge and the converter is fitted to the pen so it is ready to write in either configuration.
The pen is constructed in brushed stainless steel with Gold trim and a spectacular 14 Ct. Gold nib. It writes with a very smooth medium to fine line, with a pleasing 'soft' feel and a small amount of flex, Parker did advertise this nib as semi flexible. It is a well balanced and comfortable pen that was clearly built to a high standard.
A very robust pen, the solid, substantial steel construction and huge nib give the 65 an excellent high quality feel and character in abundance. It would make a first class every day vintage writer.
