The Parker 61 Flighter De Luxe was introduced in 1970 and the cap stud was changed in 1975 to a Gold filled stud, as in this pen. The 61 was discontinued around 1981. This is a 'new old stock' pen in the original box.
The Flighter De Luxe differed from the standard Flighter in that it featured a Gold filled clip and cap stud. This is a fine example, it is in first rate, unused condition throughout. The original tag is still in place, it cannot be removed without breaking it so I've left it on.
The refill is the original Parker'T-ball', it still writes well but I'll include a new Parker refill as a spare. It is important to use genuine Parker refills as these are better quality and longer lasting then the 'compatibles' that are widely advertised on the internet.
The all steel construction of the Flighter ballpoint is very robust and the Gold filling on the De Luxe version add more class, it would make an excellent vintage daily writer.
