Parker Junior Duofold in box. 1956.

Regular price

This Parker Junior Duofold was made, in England, in 1956, the date is clearly stamped on the barrel.

It is finished in Black with Gold filling to the clip and decorated cap band.  The nib is the correct 14 Ct. Gold No.10, it writes with a smooth, consistent medium line, perhaps a touch on the broad side.  It really is a very nice pen to use, it has that touch of 'softness' that makes it a very pleasant and 'easy' writer.

The pen is in first class condition, it has been serviced, given a light polish and thoroughly tested.  No restoration was needed as the pen had no faults when it came to me as part of a small collection of U.K. Duofolds.  The surface is excellent and has a deep shine, the Gold trim is also pristine and the nib is straight and correctly aligned.  The original 'pli-glass- ink sac shows relatively little staining, it has been stored without ink.

The Parker box is in very sound condition and may well be the original, it is certainly from the correct era.

The Parker Duofold Junior does not live up to its name in one respect: it is by no means a small pen.  At over 6 inches in length when posted it is a very long and elegant pen with a very good balance and feel.  The final photograph shows the pen alongside a Parker 51 from around the same period.

At the moment the Parker Duofold Junior is much underrated but that is sure to change, particularly for a pen in such fine condition.  It is very difficult to identify a new pen with a Gold nib of this quality and 'breeding' at anywhere near the price!
