The Parker Senior Duofold aerometric filler was only produced from 1954 until 1958, a relatively sort production run, always good for collectors.
The pen is finished in classic black with a Gold filled, chevron engraved cap band and Gold filled clip. It is in excellent condition with only light usage marks and a clear barrel imprint. The cap is a smooth screw fit, it tightens securely with one and a quarter turns and carries a black cap jewel.
The pen has been fully serviced and tested. The aerometric filling system is easy to use and works well. Somewhat surprisingl for such a big pen, the14Ct. Gold No. 35 nib has, what Parker termed, a 'needle point'. It produces an extra fine, firm line, ideal for small handwriting or for detailed work.
The Duofold Senior is a very large pen, 16.3 cm. (well over 6 inches), in length when posted for use. It is well balanced and has a solid, high quality feel. The classic black and gold combination was very popular as it conveyed a distinguished, understated presence.
The Senior topped the line up of the Duofold aerometric models until the introduction of the Maxima. It is now very collectable and not at all easy to find in such excellent condition.
