The Parker Sonnet was released in 1994, this all metal Flighter G.T. fountain pen was made in the first year. The pen is unused and supplied in the original case and outer sleeve.
It is important to note that this pen is a 100% genuine French made Parker Sonnet, not one of the 'Sonnet Series' Chinese made copies that now appear regularly online. The pen came to me from its original owner who had bought it from new in 1994.
The Sonnet was first advertised as the 'writers pen' and the fact that it is still produced largely unchnged after 28 years gives credence to this claim.
The pen was introduced in no less than 18 finishes, two of them 'Flighter', all steel, versions. There was a CT, chrome triimed version and the 23Ct. Gold plated trim version, this pen. The thick Gold finish is applied to the clip and retaining 'cowl', cap ring, clutch ring, nib, and ring at the end of the section. The cap assembly is finished with a black 'jewel'.
The pen, a cartridge/converter filler, is in immaculate condition throughout. The outer cardboard box shows some wear at the corners but it is the original sleeve and is clearly marked as a Paker Sonnet with a medium nib. the hard plastic Parker presentation case is in clean, sound condition.
The Parker Sonnet Flighter G.T. is a high quality, stylish pen that has gained a reputation as an excellent writer. The all metal construction is very solid and robust, about as unbreakable as a fountain pen gets! It would make a first class daily writer.
