Parker Sonnet I in Laque Midnight Blue. 1996.

Regular price

The Parker Sonnet was introduced in 1994 as a replacement for the high end range of Parker pens which was now seen as becoming dated.  The Laque Midnight blue was among the first designs, it was discontinued in 1998, this pen bears a date code for the dirst quarter of 1996.

The Midnight Blue finish is produced by applying multiple coats of lacquer to obtain a hard, high gloss and hard wearing surface, in this case a striking mottled Blue.  The pen also features a 'Dimonite' trim, this is a coating of 50% Gold and 50% Titanium.

The pen is in excellent consition with only very light usage marks, it has a deep shine  and bright gols trim.

A cartridge/converter filler, the pen is fitted with a Parker slide converter and will be provided with a new ink cartridge so it is ready to write in either configuration.  It produces a really smooth medium line and is a pleasure to use.

The Parker Sonnet was very successful and is still made today but these early 'Laque' pens are, by far, amongst the most collectable.
