The Parker Sonnet was introduced in 1994 as a replacement for the high end range of Parker pens which was now seen as becoming dated. The Laque Midnight blue was among the first designs, it was discontinued in 1998, this pen bears a date code for the last quarter of 1996.
The Midnight Blue finish is produced by applying multiple coats of lacquer to obtain a hard, high gloss and hard wearing surface, in this case a striking mottled Blue. The pen also features a 'Dimonite' trim, this is a coating of 50% Gold and 50% Titanium.
The pen is in immaculate condition and may well be new old stock, having no signs of use. It came to me unboxed, as do many old stock pens, so I have provided a new high quality box which suits the pen very well.
A cartridge/converter filler, the pen has the original Parker de Luxe converter fitted and will be provided with a new ink cartridge so it is ready to write in either configuration.
There is not much to say about the condition of the pen, it is 'as new', so i'll let the photographs speak for themselves.
The Parker Sonnet was very successful and is still made today but these early 'Laque' pens are, by far, amongst the most collectable.
