The Parker Sonnet was introduced in 1994 to replace the Parker 75 at the top of the Parker range. This Tartan ST Premier version is date stamped for the last quarter of 2002, in time for its launch in the2003 catalogue. No doubt Parker would have made the pen available for Christmas 2002. Along with the Cisele and the Tartan GT this was at the very top of the new Sonnet line.
The pen is heavily Silver plated and has a deep cut tartan pattern, it was originally described as a 'Chiselled Tartan'. In unused condition throughout, the pen is immaculate in all respects and is presented in the original high quality 'clamshell' box.
The nib is clearly stamped as 18K and 750, for 18Ct. Gold, along with the Parker name, the silver colour is achieved by rhodium plating. The feed is multi finned and carries an 'M' for fine stamp.
The pen is presented in a high quality presentation box along with an outer cardboard sleeve. It is fitted with the original ink converter and will be supplied with a new ink cartridge so it is ready to write in either configuration.
The top end, French made Sonnets, such as this example, are of the highest quality and are much sought after.
