The Pelikan P390 was made between 1992 and 1995 as a response to demand for a slim, high quality, metal bodied pen, it was named the 'New Classic'. The short production run and high price, when new, of the P390 resulted in it becoming a hard to find 'future collectable' model.
Constructed in Silver plate with a fine Guilloche pattern and Gold plated trim it is a very striking pen which maintains many of the recognisable Pelikan features with a more modern appearence than the rest of the Pelikan range.
This example is in mint condition, it appears to be unused. It is fitted with a Pelikan ink converter and presented in a Pelikan hard presentation box along with a guarantee leaflet.
The Pelikan P 390 was offered with a choice of three nib materials: 18CT. Gold, 14Ct. Gold, and steel. This pen has the 14 Ct. gold nib with a medium point.
At 16cm., well over 6 inches in length, when posted, it a long, slim, and extremely elegant pen with a well balanced, high quality feel. The practicality of the cartridge/converter system and durability of the metal consrtruction would make it an excellent daily user with a good deal of prestige.
