Rolled Silver Cap Parker 51 Pencil in Teal. 1957.

Regular price £75.00

The Parker 51 Pencil used from 1948 to 1957 was a repeater or continuous feed mechanism, in 1957 Parker reverted to a rotary mechanism with a thick stem, as in this example.  The design of the mechanism 'stem' was changed to a slimmer version in the first year.

Finished in Teal, with the rolled Silver cap, Gold filled clip, and pearl cap jewel, the pencil is in superb condition. The barrel has a showroom finish with a crisp 'Made in England' imprint and the cap has no dings and a first class surface.  The eraser shows little, if any use, I haven't attempted to remove it as the rubber hardens with age and becomes brittle.

The Parker 'Halo' box is fairly sound and has a very clean interior, the design of the box is consistent with the 1957 date.

The Parker 51 pen has a reputation as one of the best pens ever made, and the pencil has the quality to match.  The rolled Silver cap was only made in England and is the most sought after of all English caps.  A pencil in this condition is highly collectable but would aslo serve well as an attractive vintage daily writer.
