The original snorkel filling Sheaffer Crest was reissued in the 1990s with a modern cartridge/converter filling system. This top of the line Gold plated version was made between 1992 and 1998.
The pen is constructed in brass with a 23Ct. Gold electroplated cap and barrel with goups of four finely engraved lines and a plain cap band. The innersprung clip is also 23Ct. and carries the Sheaffer 'White Dot' mark of quality. The cap is a secure screw fit.
The large, conical nib is solid Gold, clearly stamped as '18K' and '750', for 18Ct., it is a handsome affair that writes with a smooth, firm, medium line.
The pen is in superb condition throughout, has the ink converter fitted, and is supplied in the original box along with an ink cartridge so it is ready to write in either configuration.
At 15.5 cm. in length when posted this is a long, elegant, and outageously attractive pen that oozes quality . Selling at a hefty $265 in 1996 it was marketed as a 'gift pen', clearly something to be cherished.
