The Sheaffer Targa was made in a bewildering range of finishes but, because of the steel body and chrome plated clip this one is easily tracked down. It is a Sheaffer Targa 1001, made from 1980 to 1988.
In 'as new' condition, the pen is a full sized Targa, as opposed to the slim version. It is fitted with the original ink converter and it also takes standard Sheaffer ink cartridges. The pen is one of a small batch of recently acquired new old stock pens.
The robust build, excellent writing characteristics, and versatility of the filling system make the Targa 1001 a great candidate as a vintage, every day fountain pen.
