Sheaffer Targa 1009 Gold Barleycorn.

Regular price £85.00

The Sheaffer Targa 1009, introduced in 1976, is constructed in brass with a fine cut barleycorn pattern in 23Ct. Gold electroplate.  It is a full sized 'Classic' pen, the slim version is the 1009s.

It has the 14Ct. Gold 'inlaid diamond' nib with a medium point.  These nibs were made 'from scratch' by Sheaffer, starting with ingots of 24Ct. Gold, copper and silver which were mixed to conform to the 14 Ct. standard.

The nib features a characteristic slightly upturned tip which was designed to improve the writing experience.  it may take a bit of getting used to but certainly adds smoothness.

The pen is a cartrifge/converter filler, a new cartridge is included. The box is new, it is high quality and will serve well for transportation, protection, and display.

The Targa 1009 sat well towards the top of the Targa range.  It is an outrageously attractive pen with the robustness and practicality to make an eye-catching daily writer.
