The Sheaffer Targa 1030, introduced in 1978, is constructed in brass with fourteen coats of hand applied lacquer which was hand polished to a brilliant deep shine. The colour is a marbled brown, named after burr wood which is often polished to this effect in high end carpentry work, and the trim is plated with 23Ct. Gold.
The pen is in immaculate condition and shows no signs of use. It is presented in the original box along with the instruction leaflet, ink converter, and an ink cartridge so it is ready to write in either configuration.
The Laque Thuya Ronce is among the most attractive of the many Targa finishes and is much sought after. This example is clearly of collectable quality but would also make a reliable and eye-catching pen for daily use.
