Sheaffer Triumph Snorkel. 1955.

Regular price £195.00

The all gold plated Sheaffer Triumph Snorkel was introduced in 1955 as a top of the range 'gift pen'.   Sheaffer emphasised, to dealers, that it was ' Ideal for public awards, anniversaries, and retirements'

The first 112SKY version, this pen, had the plain engraving ring on the cap, by 1957 the ring had been moved to the barrel in the112SKYB model.

The pen is characterised by a repeating pattern of groups of five parallel lines to the cap and barrel with an engraving ring on the cap and a blank rectangular cartouche on the barrel.  it has a screw on cap and a gold plated sprung clip carrying the sheaffer 'white dot' mark of quality.

The snorkel filling system has been overhauled by a Snorkel specialist and is in excellent working condition.  The two tone, 14Ct gold conical Triumph nib writes well, delivering a smooth medium line.

An outrageously attractive pen, it is a generous 16.3 cm. in length when posted, although it is understandable that it may not be the best idea to post a metal to metal pen.

The Sheaffer box may be from a later pen, but it is a white dot box and in good, clean condition.

The Sheaffer Triumph Snorkel was a very expensive item with a relatively short production run so there are few survivors. This has all the attributes of a highly collectable pen: age, quality, rarity, and condition.
