The Summit Cub, made between 1950 and 1952, was one of the last Summit pens, the factory closed in 1954. It is a rare pen.
The pen is finished in blue, not as dark as it appears on the photographs, and is in superb condition throughout. The fine lines that decorate the pen are super sharp with no signs of wear and the nickel plated trim is similarly pristine.
The original sticker identifying the pen and nib width, 'M' for medium, is still affixed and intact.
A new ink sac has been fitted as the original had hardened with age. The pen fills well and the 'CUB' 14 Ct. Gold nib writes with a very pleasing amount of flex, a person with a decent 'hand' could produce impressive results.
The Cub was only made for a short time and is now extremely hard to come by. This example is clearly in collectable condition but would also make an attractive and practical pen as a daily writer.
The pen will be dispatched in a new, robust, magnetic closing case.
