This Summit S100 was made by Langs, in England, around the mid 1930s. It is in outstanding condition throughout, a near mint vintage pen.
The chasing on the barrel and cap is sharp and clear as is the imprint identifying the pen as an English made Summit 100. The set is constructed in black chased hard rubber, very unusual as most manufacturers, including Langs, had moved to plastics by this time. It is possible that the company had some leftover hard rubber rod stock that needed using up.
The pen has been fully serviced and tested. It takes up a good volume of ink and the 14 Ct. Gold Summit nib writes with a smooth medium line with flex to add character to the lettering At 16cm. in length, when posted it is a long pen with a solid, 'chunky' feel, very comfortable in use.
The Summit S100 is the archetypal English 1930s lever filling fountain pen. It is not a common pen by any means and one in such superb condition is not at all easy to find.
