This vintage pen was probably produced in the late 1940s or early 50s. It is clearly a second tier pen but has survived well and has some historical value.
A typical, unbranded, no frills lever filler, it has a 'Duroid' two tone steel nib and originally sported gold plated trim.
The gold fill has just about faded altogether from the clip but the surface is bright with just a faint suggestion of its former plating.
The nib writes surprisingly well. It as been well used but still writes with a smooth line, broader on the vertical strokes than the horizontal, in the italic style.
The pen has a certain charm so I decided it was worth saving by fitting a new sac, giving it a good clean and a little work on the nib.
