The one piece design, distinctive 'art deco' appearance and materials probably date this pencil to the 1930s.
The pencil is in excellent condition throughout and is mechanically sound. Manufactured from bored out rod, it is thick walled and has a showroom 'tortoiseshell' finish. The Gold filled trim is also in very good order.
The clip is secured by a screw fit Gold filled stud which can be removed to access the spare leads stored in the barrel.
At 10.8cm. in length with a 1 cm. barrel diameter it is a very comfortable size and has a solid feel. It is quite a tactile and very attractive item.
