The Waterman Charleston, launched in 2004, was available in chrome or gold electroplated trim versions, this is the gold trimmed pen in the colour described as 'Ebony Black.
The Waterman 2004 catalogue announces the pen as 'In Charleston, the past and the future are effortlessly combined', referring to the obvious similarity to the 1940s 'Hundred Year Pen' and the modern cartridge/converter filling system. The nib is 18Ct. Gold.
The pen is in immaculate condition throughout and shows no signs of use. It is presented in the original box along with warranty, ink converter, and unused ink cartridge.
The 2004 catalogue lists 17 different models, the Charleston standing out as the only one with a classic design, very much in the Art Deco style. Constructed in 'precious resin' with the wide band and grooves harking back to the 1940s, it is a very handsome, good sized pen with a high quality look and feel and a good deal of presence.
