Waterman Executive. 1987.
The Waterman Executive was made, in Paris, in the 1980s. This pen, conveniently, has a receipt from Harrods dated 1987.
The pen is quite heavy, long and slim and has a very distinguished appearance. It is well named. It is finished in Classic Black lacquer over brass with a Gold plated trim. The condition of the pen is excellent with just light usage marks.
The Executive model is a high end offering with an 18Ct. Gold nib rather than the 14Ct. found on most Waterman pens of this era. Another refinement only found on the top end pens is the 'click' mechanism for posting the cap on the end of the barrel preventing it from becoming marked when the cap is posted. A cartridge/converter filler, it is a superb writer, the nib lays down a 'wettish' medium line with a small but pleasing amount of flex.
The pen is supplied in its original presentation box which is in excellent condition and shows off the pen very well.
The Waterman Executive is not a common pen by any means and examples in this condition are rapidly becoming very collectable.
