Introduced in 1994, the Waterman Hemisphere has been a mainstay of Waterman production for many years, although the 'Shimmery Series' only appeared in the 2008 and 2009 catalogues. Offered in blue, grey, green and pink, the pens have a deep laquered, lightly metallic satin finish, all with polished chrome trim, as shown in the 2008 catalogue.
The pen is in excellent condition throughout, it is fitted with an ink converter for use with bottled ink and a new ink cartridge is provided so it is ready to write in either configuration.
the steel nib has a good ball of tipping and is engraved 'Waterman Paris'. It delivers a smooth medium line and is a very comfortable and 'easy' writer with a solid, high quality feel.
The Hemsphere was, and remains, very popular, selling in large numbers over the last three decades or so. This version, however, was only made for two years and is not at all easy to find. The clour goes very well with the chrome trim to produce a remakably attractive and unusual pen.
