The Waterman Laureate was introduced around 1985 and updated to the Mk. II, this pen around 2000. This example has the original box along with an instruction leaflet dated to 2006, it was the last of the Laureates.
The pen came to me as unused and a full inspection supports that claim, it is immaculate in all respects. Constructed in brass finished with several coats of lacquer and gold filled trim, it is a remarkably attractive pen with a solid, high quality feel.
At 13.3 cm. capped and 15.5 cm. posted it is a long, elegant pen. The deeply ribbed nib section, a defining feature of the Laureate, is comfortable in use and prevents slipping. The cap posts securely on the end of the barrel via a plastic end section which prevents scratching of the enamel.
The pen is a cartridge/converter filler, it is fitted with the original Waterman ink converter and a new ink cartridge is included so the pen is ready to write in either configuration.
The Waterman Laureate II is a very practical, and unusually attractive, high quality pen, it would make a first class daily writer.
