The Watermans 503, was part of a new range of pens introduced just after the end of WW2 as the industry was recovering from wartime restrictions on production and materials.
Finished in the classic combination of black with gold filled trim, the pen has been serviced, tested, and is in good working condition. The surface is excellent, there is a slight ripple in one side of the cap, only noticeable from certain angles, and this is reflected in the price. The Gold filling has held up extremely well.
The pen is a lever filler, the system works well and the 14Ct Gold Watermans W-2A nib writes with a smooth line, a little on the fine side of medium.
